Our Family |

Welcome
to the life of the wacky Hilscher
family!
"We are the
people they couldn't figure out.... we are the people our parents
warned us about."
- Jimmy Buffett
We have been a boating family for years and always
dreamed of a day where we could pack up a boat and head out for
awhile, cruising. Many, many books were read, websites
traveled, and dreams dreamt, until finally the day came where we
decided it was time.
We found Thaleďa and immediately knew
she was the one! We
bought her in March of 2008 from a wonderful couple, Judy and John.
We headed out on November 19, 2008 and motored/sailed down the Bay
through the ICW and to the Bahamas. We returned home on May 9,
2009.
Eric and Beth own a company, Med+Con, which
specializes in the design and build of MRI facilities around the
country. Erica just graduated from Longwood University in May
2008, with a Bachelor in Psychology. She has plans for
graduate school in Fall 2009.

Scout and Lucy
Scout and Lucy are two among the many pets that we
have. Our two labs have provided many happy moments and will
continue to do so as they learn the finer points of sailing this
summer. We hope to have them come out with us more often.

Emily
The
most special part of our family, Emily Jane, was tragically killed
on April 16, 2007. Emily was a very special friend to so many people, both
young and old. She was brilliant, stubborn, beautiful,
creative, classy, and athletic. She did everything from sewing
her own clothes, to making scarves and jewelry, to snowboarding and horseback riding. Emily's
dream was to become a veterinarian and take care of her family. We miss her dearly, but always keep her with us.
We know she is watching over us as we continue through life.

Sea Fever
John Masefield
I must go down to the seas
again,
to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship
and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel's kick and the
wind's song
and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's
face,
and a great dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas
again,
for the call of the running
tide
Is a wild call and a clear
call
that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day
with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the
blown spume,
and the sea-gulls crying.
I must
